How To Put Your Faith In Christ

Step One:

We begin by realizing that we cannot do life alone.
We have tried and failed.
We have hurt others, even those whom we love.
We have betrayed ourselves. . .that is, we have sinned.
That’s the realistic news.

The Good News is that inspite of all of this, God loves us anyway, unconditionally and eternally and desires to be in relationship with us.

God wants good for us.

Step Two:

Pray to God and include these in your prayer: . . .
Confess to God that you have fallen short of God's ideal for your life . . .
that you have failed to love others as you should have . . .
that you have held grudges . . .
that you have sinned.

Accept, in your heart, God’s love and forgiveness . . .
Believe in God and in God's Son, Jesus Christ. . . .
Give God thanks for his Great Grace.

Step Three:

This is just the beginning.
Continue in your faith through the church.
Read the Gospel of John found in the New Testament.

Step Four:

Tell someone of your decistion to follow Christ and the ways of Christ.

Let the pastor know of your committment by emailing him -
see the bottom of this page.
If you would like to join
First United Methodist Church,
here is how:

If you are already a member of a United Methodist Church, just speak to the pastor, he will have your membership transferred to FUMC. Your membership vows to support this church with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, and your service come with you.

If you are a member of another Christian denomination or church, we recognize baptism as a sacrament from God and we accept your baptism. You may also join by transfer and we will ask you to support this church with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, and your service. Just tell the pastor that you would like to transfer your membership.

If you are not currently a member of a church, but have been baptized, then we welcome you with open arms. Just talk with the pastor.

If you have never been baptized, we would very much like to be a part of that experience with you. Baptism is a sacrament of the church which means that it is an outward sign and symbol of something God is doing inside of you. What God is doing inside of you is giving you faith, forgiveness, grace, spiritual healing, and peace. If you have never trusted in God, through Jesus Christ, then simply pray and ask God to forgive your sins and ask Christ to fill your heart and life with his presence.

If you would like more information, simply speak with the pastor.

If you are a new believer, speak with the pastor about Baptism and Church Membership.
